The things we always do. On every single job.
Our promise to you
Hiring an electrician is stressful. Will they turn up? Will the work be any good? Will the bill be bigger than the quote? Here are seven promises we make on every job - the things we would want ourselves.
1. The price is the price
The price you build on our quote tool is the price you pay. It does not go up because your walls are solid, your loft is a squeeze, or the job turns out harder than it looked. That side is our problem to plan for, not yours to pay for. The only thing that changes your number is you, if you add to the job - and we agree that with you first, in writing. A quote, not an estimate.
2. We turn up when we say
The biggest worry with any tradesperson is simple: will they actually show up? We will. You get a booked time, a text when we are on our way, and an honest heads-up the moment we are running late. No vanishing act, no vague "sometime Tuesday".
3. Straight answers, even when they cost us
We tell you what you actually need, even when it is less than you feared. If your wiring is sound and you only need a new fuseboard, we will say so - even though it is a smaller job for us. We would rather earn your trust than oversell you. And if we are not the right fit for your job, we will tell you that too.
4. We clean as we go
We do not treat your home like a building site. Dust sheets go down, boots come off, and we have a proper tidy once or twice a day as we move from one area to the next - not just at the end. If things start getting messy or hectic, we stop, clean, reset, then carry on. You get your home back the way it should be.
5. One team, start to finish
You deal with Pete - one person, one number, no call centre, no being passed around. And the same electricians see your whole job through. We are our own employed team, not subcontractors, and we never swap people mid-job or shuffle them between sites the way some firms do. Whoever starts your job, finishes it.
6. Done right, and guaranteed
We do it properly, not quickly. Every circuit is tested and certified, and the work is backed by a written 10-year guarantee. There is no VAT to add and no markup on materials - we charge them at cost, and our margin is in the labour. Done once, done right.
7. Safe in your home
Letting someone into your home is a big deal, and we get that. We are fully insured (£5M public liability), we carry ID, and it is always our own known team - never a stranger off a website. If you live alone, or you are arranging this for an elderly parent, you will always know exactly who is turning up.
Why we make these promises
Because they are the things we would want ourselves. Pete has been wiring homes across Bournemouth, Poole and Dorset for over 20 years, and every one of these is simply how a good job should be done. If an electrician cannot promise you this much, ask yourself why.
